About "The Volunteer"
The official newsletter of the Alabama Association of Volunteer
Fire Departments, THE VOLUNTEER, which is provided free as a benefit
for obtaining the AAVFD insurance, is published 6 times a year:
in January, March, May, July, September and November. Articles,
information, and advertisements for the newsletter must be in Montgomery
not later than the 15th of the month before publication to be considered
for a particular issue but may be submitted at any time.
For members not participating in the insurance program,
the AAVFD Newsletter is now available at $6 per year, starting 1
January each year. Due to the administrative burden of this program
there will be no pro ration of cost throughout the year.
Submissions of Articles & Information
Submissions of articles, letters, and information for inclusion
in THE VOLUNTEER are greatly appreciated and encouraged. All submissions
must include the name, address and telephone number of the sender.
No libelous or slanderous material will be published. We reserve
the right to edit for length, corrections, and style. Please send
